The Rasmus' little story :
Lauri Ylönen, Pauli Rantasalmi, Eero Heinonen and Janne Heiskanen met in school in Helsinki when they were young. They soon decided to make music together. At first, Lauri was on the drums, Eero was singing, Janne was playing bass and Pauli was playing guitar. But soon they realised that Lauri had a really beautiful voice, that Janne was a really good drummer and that Eero could play the bass.

"Rasmus" was born !

In 1995 they managed to record a single. If you trust what the guys say about that, it has been "accidentally sent to a radio." But the radio started playing it. And Finnish people liked it.

They quickly recorded the single "1st." Then, in 1996, they recorded and
released "Peep". It was a big success, it sold gold !!!

Then they did the same with their 2nd cd, "Playboys", in 1997. It also went gold. "Rasmus" were becoming quite popular.

Then came 1998 and "Hellofatester". But it has never been as popular as their previous cd's.

Soon the band kinda faded away, they lost some popularity and their last cd wasn't selling as much as their previous ones. That was the beginning of their hard years.

They stopped touring and Janne left the band
